After we for many years have had
a more or less inviting “buffer stock”, we have turned
this room into a showroom. It was decided to do something about
it as we thought the shop was getting too small for our increased
stock.
We are pleased to be able
to show more newly restored furniture in this inviting room.
December 2005

In connection with the restoration of this
mahogany bureau, we found a very nice copy of a paper plaquette
in one of the small drawers of the insertion.

It is from “Det Forenede Kunstflids
Meubelmagasin” (“The United Handicraft Furniture Store”).
These cabinetmakers were offshoots of the Royal Furniture Store.
They were housed in Norgesgade (later Bredgade) and funnily enough
in the same gateway as the "De ti forenede snedkermestres meubelmagazin"
("The furniture store of the ten united master joiners"),
which also were offshoots from the Royal Furniture Store.
One can imagine that this has brought on more or less funny mistakes.
They were active during the first half of the 19th century. We are
proud to be able to show this in our new showroom. It costs DKK
16,500.-
